Powder coating, an excellent finishing of your pieces

Powder coating is a surface treatment for the coverage of metal by means of dry powder. The main difference between traditional paint and powder coatings is that this powder does not need a solvent before application.
During powder coating, the powder is applied in an electrostatic way, and then as if it were, melted in a warm oven, so that a homogeneous ‘skin’ is formed around the surface to be treated.
The powder utilized for powder coating can be thermoplastic or in the form of a thermoset polymer. It is usually used to obtain a hard finishing that is tougher than traditional paint, and also a lot more scratch resistant. Generally it is applied to metal, such as steel or aluminium.
The advantages of powder coating:
- Powder coating is an inexpensive form of finishing in case of series
- Powder coating offers a qualitative, durable finishing
